Women's Retreats
Women's retreats at Cal-a-Vie Health Spa — Women's Weeks through the year, movement shaped to your level, estate spa rituals, and a long table at night.
Who arrives for a women's week
Some women arrive with three friends and a shared calendar invitation. Some arrive alone, having told almost no one, and find by Wednesday that they know everyone at the table by name. Women's Weeks are held throughout the year and the shape holds steady: movement in the morning, the spa through the afternoon, a long table at night, and enough unclaimed hours that the week never becomes something you have to keep up with. The group is small by design.
Choosing the length
Three days, Thursday to Sunday, is the Reset — enough to interrupt the pattern you arrived carrying. The Four-Day Escape begins on a Sunday or a Wednesday and opens more room in the treatment schedule. The Seven-Day Renewal runs Sunday to Sunday and gives the program its fullest expression: the whole arc rather than a slice of it. Each length rests on the same foundation — accommodations, three chef-prepared meals daily, unlimited fitness classes, nutrition lectures, cooking demonstrations, and complimentary transportation to and from San Diego International Airport. Sessions taken privately or semiprivately are chosen separately and added to the stay.
Movement that meets you where you are
More than 120 fitness offerings sit behind a single conversation with your Fitness Concierge. The morning hike leaves at daybreak and sets the tone for everything that follows it. Around it: Barre Magic, Mat Pilates Flow, Happy Hips Mobility, Golden Strength & Motion for guests who want the joint-friendly version, Aqua Barre and Aqua Yoga in the eighty-six-degree pools, Zumba, country line dancing, and forty-plus styles of yoga from Yin to heated vinyasa. Classes run by level rather than by reputation, so the trail and the studio are both open to whoever wants them.
The spa, drawn from the hillside
The estate's signature rituals use what grows on it — the Vinothérapie grape-skin wrap from the vineyard, the lavender honey wrap from the apiary, the Vinotherapy Facial. Alongside them sit the L'Orangerie Facial, reflexology with a foot scrub, aromatic salt scrubs, hot stone work, and the salon, where hair, makeup, brow, and lash appointments are kept for the evenings the week asks for polish. Every treatment category is offered daily and tailored after your aesthetician or therapist reads what you have arrived with.
Which women's weeks are on the calendar?
Women's Week returns through the year, joined by Women's Beauty Week, Women's Galentine's Week, and Women's Summer Style Week. Other themed weeks sit near them — Detox Week, Mental Reset Week, Yoga & Breathwork Week, Food & Wine Week. The events calendar carries the current dates, and reservations can confirm what is still open.
Will I feel out of place coming alone?
Many guests visit on their own. Meals are taken at shared tables, classes are taken in company, and the estate is small enough that by the second morning the room already knows your name. The quiet hours are protected just as carefully — nothing on the schedule is compulsory, and an afternoon spent reading on your sundeck is a legitimate use of the week.
How is the program adapted to my level?
Your Fitness Concierge reaches out roughly ten days before arrival with the classes planned for your stay, and the schedule keeps adjusting once you are here. The range runs from Chair Yoga, Healthy Joints Matter, and Stretch and Release through Tabata Strength, Barre Bootcamp, and the longer hikes. Private and semiprivate sessions with a trainer, a Pilates instructor, or a Gyrotonic specialist are a paid addition rather than part of the class schedule; your concierge will tell you what each costs when you plan them.
What is the food like?
Three chef-prepared meals and snacks arrive daily, built with the nutrition team and adjusted to what you can and cannot eat. The produce and herbs are cut from the organic gardens, the honey comes from the estate's own hives, and the wine is Château Cal-a-Vie's, pressed from the vineyard below the terrace. Tell the chef and the registered dietitian what you need before you arrive and it is handled quietly rather than negotiated at the table. Nutrition lectures and cooking demonstrations run through the week for guests who want the method to travel home with them.
