Cal-a-Vie Health Spa is a haven of health on 200 acres of French-countryside-inspired hillside in Vista, California.
Our History
Terri and John Havens discovered Cal-a-Vie in 1998 and became proprietors on July 1st, 2000. They transformed the property into a destination drawn from historical antiques, European travel experiences, and a lifelong commitment to wellness.
Authentic French Architecture
The meditation Chapel was originally constructed between the 16th century and 1789 at the Convent of the Carmelites in Dijon, France. After the convent’s 1978 demolition, the Chapel was carefully reconstructed at Cal-a-Vie and opened in 2006.
L’Orangerie, a 400-year-old limestone greenhouse from the same French convent, once protected citrus trees through winter and later served as a dining hall. Today, relocated to California, it hosts events on the estate.
The Parish House, built circa 1715 in Burgundy, France, originally housed a parish priest. Reconstructed and completed in June 2018, it now showcases estate wines from Chateau Cal-a-Vie.
